The European Open Championships will be raced over shortened tracks |

The organizers of the European Open Championships in Nové Město na Moravě have been greatly affected by the extremely warm weather that effected the central Europe in December and first half of January. For this reason the events will be held over tracks adapted to the 2.5 km loop that is covered with technical snow. |

Norway and Russia take Team Sprints in Nove Mesto |

Maiken Caspersen Falla and Ingvild Flugstad Oestberg are winners again in the ladies' team sprint in the Czech Republic. They won in Liberec one year ago and again today in Nove Mesto. For the men it was a repeat of the Asiago podium with Russia I just out sprinting Norwegian team's 1 and 2 on the homestretch for the victory.

Randall and Ustiugov dominate in Nove Mesto sprints |

Kikkan Randall (USA) and Sergey Ustiugov (RUS) were victorious in Nove Mesto free technique sprints. Both found the podium before Christmas in Davos the last World Cup free technique sprint competition (not including Tour de Ski), but this time they both found the top step of the podium. For each it was their first win of the season and the first ever World Cup win for Ustiugov. |

The tracks of the Golde Ski FIS World Cup are ready for tomorrow’s official training. Thursday was busy with last finishes to the stadium infrastructure and facilities, same it was busy in the official WC hotels. Also the parking places designed for wax trucks have been filled. |

The best conditions for cross-country skiing in Central Europe are currently in Nové Město na Moravě. The local 2.5 kilometres long course covered with technical snow survived with honours harsh tests of biathletes and XC skiers – both in training and competition. |
