This season, he already sneaked into the podiums with his fourth position from Pietermaritzburg, where the opening race of the season was held. Next WC round in Australian Cairns was also succesful as he finished 8th. Therefore in the overall World Cup standings he belongs to sixth place.
He wants to check his fitness this weekend in the Czech Cup in Bedřichov, he will step into the race from full training. After that he skips the exhibition in Prague (Prague stairs) on Tuesday, because he wants to tune his form in Nové Město on the race track. This season so far Cink is domestic number one, as the Olympic Champion Jaroslav Kulhavy finished his first World Cup in Australia after several troubles with injury and illness in tenth place. "I'm more of a substitution for Kulhavy, who had health problems earlier in the season, not really a replacement" said the twenty-three year old Cink, revaluing his position of the current Czech leader.
Cink is pretty satisfied with the beginning of the season. Especially with the fifth place from South Africa, which surprised him. As a member of the current top ten ranking he will be on Saturday 24th May present at the Number Hand Out Ceremony in Nové Město. "That was one of my dreams which I was able to fulfill, to be part of the ceremony" rejoiced Cink.
Today he rode a few rounds in Nové Město. A year ago, he finished on this track sixth and this year he is really focused to improve that result. "My big goal is to finish on my home track within the first three. If it doesn't work out, at least the big podium for top 5 would be nice," said Cink in Vysočina Arena.
Let's see next week!!
